IIT Gandhinagar announces admissions for the Start-early Ph.D Fellowship for 2014 session from eligible B.Tech final year students from IITs This full-time residential fellowship is designed to enable budding engineers to gain early entry into the PhD programmes at IIT Gandhinagar
The objective of this programme is to put promising young undergraduate students from diverse disciplines on the fast-track mode of cutting edge technological research in order to prepare them to participate in the process of nation building
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Programme Highlights
Direct admission after B.Tech to PhD Programme of IITGN Eligible to apply for the programme immediately after completing the third year of B.Tech GATE score is NOT mandatory for admission Candidates can choose to appear for GATE for stipend boost after joining the programme International travel support to the extent of Rs.2 lakhs for attending conferences or workshops A support of up to $ 12,500 may be considered in deserving cases to do research work at the best Universities/Labs abroad for a period of 4 to 6 months
Fellowship
CAREER PROSPECTS
Total monthly stipend of Rs 26,000 - 28,000 per month (with valid GATE score) or Rs 16,000 - 18,000 per month (without GATE score)
Eligibility
B.Tech students from IITs with a CPI/CGPA of not less than 6.0 at the end of their third year Applicants must possess the requisite levels of aptitude and motivation for research Top 5 rank holders of the disciplines in NITs and other selected engineering colleges (Check with the HOD/Director of the college for information)
Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to IITGN for a written test and/or interview Interviews through video conferencing may be considered in exceptional cases
